Portrait or Personal Image - Wendy Kaveney

Wendy Kaveney Photography

I have always enjoyed photography, and have been serious about producing high quality images since the mid 1990's.

I have focused on my creative vision by participating in numerous photography classes and workshops in order to pursue the many facets of photography that interest me. These include workshops at the Disney Institute, Rocky Mountain School of Photography, the George Lepp Institute of Digital Imaging, Joseph Van Os Photo Safaris, the Great American Photo Workshops, and an inspiring week with Freeman Patterson and André Gallant.

In 2001, I made the bold step into digital photography, learning an entirely new way to capture and edit my images. I continue to ride this steep learning curve as the photo industry amazes us with the advancements it is making in this area.

My award winning images have been published nationally and internationally in magazines, ads, books and brochures. Many have also been featured on nationally distributed greeting cards.

I was honored to be published in and chosen as the first place landscape image winner in the 2004 Photography Contest Issue of Nature’s Best Magazine for my image called “Sunrise at Zabriskie Point.” The image was on exhibit in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. from December 2004 through April 2005.

I have also been chosen by National Photo Awards as Photographer of the Year in 2005 and 2006.

I am inspired by the creative vision of those around me and this keeps me pushing myself to making better images. I am a member of the Riviera Camera Club in Indianapolis, Indiana. Through this group of talented photographers, I am able to learn even more about my expressive art.
